Search for pair-produced vector-like top quark partners decaying to bW in the fully hadronic channel using jet substructure in 8 TeV proton-proton collisions with the CMS detector

We present a search for pair-produced vector-like top quark partners in 19.7 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV collected with the CMS detector at the LHC in 2012. The search is optimized for the decay mode T->bW in the fully hadronic final state. Due to the large mass of the T quark, its decay products will be significiantly boosted, requiring the use of specialized jet substructure techniques. We select events consistent with the expected final state, containing one or two jets consistent with the decay and subsequent hadronization of a b-quark (b-tagged), and two additional jets, each consistent with a hadronic W boson decay. We see no excess of events above the expected standard model backgrounds, and proceed to set limits on the T pair-production cross section.
