Quantum steering witness for quantum key distribution

The concept of steering was originated from Schrodinger in response to the EPR paradox. It describes that the state of one particle of an entangled pair can be decided remotely by measuring another pair. We propose a new concept of steering for single quantum d-level systems which is based on realism and devise several quantum witness which are applicable for both single-system steering and EPR steering. These witnesses are useful in quantum information processing as a secure criterion against coherent attack and cloning-based attack when implementing quantum key distribution.
