Neutrino and Dark Matter Detection at Low Energies

To study the electromagnetic properties of neutrinos, including magnetic moments and possible millicharges, and light dark matter candidates, it is known that detectors with low thresholds generally provide better sensitivities. With technological advances making such detectors available, reliable interpretation of experimental results still requires detailed knowledge of low-energy detector responses. In this talk, I will introduce our recent effort of applying ab initio techniques to these intricate many-body problems, and illustrate how it can help to sharpen our experimental inquiry.
