PT-symmetry-breaking in phase space

With the Wigner flow in phase space, defined by the Wigner function, we reveal the signature of symmetry-breaking phase transition in a Parity-Time (PT) Hamiltonian. Close-looped circulation of Wigner flow demonstrates a manifold of real spectra for such a non-Hermitian system; while open-looped circulation corresponds to complex spectra. The orientation winding number of Wigner flow and related topological order are demonstrated across the PT-symmetry-breaking point.
