Magnetic vortex core dynamics in Ni₈₀Fe₂₀ spin valve disks

We experimentally study on resonant switching of magnetic vortex cores using a perpendicular magnetic field that oscillates at the eigen-frequency of a Ni₈₀Fe₂₀ spin valve disks. The resonant perpendicular magnetic field stimulates axially symmetric spin oscillation with turn changes the region of the vortex core and keeps the core at the center. The spectrum of vortex core oscillation with different eigen-mode has been performed. This study is of fundamental interest and may be relevant for possible applications of the magnetic vortex in data storage devices.
