Quantum Transport in Thue-Morse Mesoscopic Aharonov-Bohm Rings

Resonant transports in the quasiperiodic Thue-Morse array of Aharonov-Bohm rings are investigated. Pattern of the Q factor at the resonances shows periodic variation with the increase of the magnetic flux in the ring. As the order of the system increases, the density and the sharpness of the resonance peaks within an energy region increase exponentially. Sharpness of the resonance is also dependent on the width of the allowed band of repeated bandedge lines in the bandedge map. It is hoped that this information may have potential applications for the development of high Q, multichannel electronic filters or resonators using the systems with higher order.
