I will give a review on Japanese project for building a laser interferometric gravitational wave detector KAGRA and physics/astrophysics with gravitational waves. The initial KAGRA will be operated at the end of 2015. At this opportunity I will mention the current status of KAGRA and then glance over sources of gravitational waves. I will also give a brief description on how to extract gravitational waves from noisy data and what information about physics and astrophysics will be acquired.
